Recurring leaks, corrosion, restricted flow or widespread piping concerns may make repeated repairs less practical. Acadiana Plumbing Services provides partial and whole-home repiping in Lafayette and surrounding Acadiana communities, with recommendations based on pipe material, system condition, accessibility and project scope.

We review the existing pipe materials, leak history, pressure concerns, visible corrosion and accessible plumbing before recommending partial or whole-home repiping. Not every leak or pressure problem requires replacing the entire system.

Replacement piping may include approved PEX or copper based on the property, water conditions, routing, code requirements and written scope. The system must be properly sized to serve the home’s fixtures and expected water demand.

Replace the hot- and cold-water distribution piping included in the written scope when aging materials, widespread deterioration or recurring leaks make isolated repairs less practical.
Replace selected damaged or problematic branches while preserving piping that remains serviceable. Partial replacement may be appropriate when concerns are limited to a particular area or material.
Evaluate accessible galvanized, copper, CPVC, polybutylene and other existing piping for visible deterioration, leak history and installation concerns before recommending replacement.
Coordinate new water-distribution piping with approved remodeling or addition plans while accounting for fixture demand, access, routing and connections to the existing system.
Recurring leaks, visible corrosion, restricted flow, repeated repairs and widespread problems involving aging piping may justify an evaluation. Low pressure or discoloration alone does not prove repiping is necessary because valves, fixtures, water heaters and utility conditions can produce similar symptoms.
Neither material is automatically best for every property. PEX is flexible and corrosion-resistant, while copper is rigid and widely established. Water conditions, installation access, project budget, local requirements and manufacturer specifications should be considered before selecting the appropriate material and system design.
Usually, some access is necessary to reach and replace concealed water lines. The amount depends on the home’s layout, piping routes and construction. Drywall, paint, cabinetry, flooring and other restoration are included only when specifically stated in the written proposal.
