Controlled High-Pressure Cleaning
Hydro jetting uses a specialized hose and nozzle to direct high-pressure water through the drain line. Water pressure, flow and nozzle selection must be matched to the pipe’s size, material, condition and type of buildup.
More Thorough Cleaning When Appropriate
Cabling is effective for opening many localized blockages. Hydro jetting may provide broader cleaning of pipe walls affected by grease, sludge, soap residue and other accumulated material, but it cannot correct damaged or improperly sloped piping.
When Hydro Jetting May Be Recommended
Heavy Grease and Sludge
High-pressure water can break up and flush away accumulated grease, sludge, soap residue and organic material when the piping and access are suitable.
Recurring Main-Line Buildup
Lines experiencing repeated buildup may benefit from hydro jetting after the cause of the problem and condition of the piping have been evaluated.
Root Intrusion
Specialized jetting nozzles may remove certain root intrusions, but roots can return if the crack, failed joint or separation allowing entry is not repaired.
Preventive Drain Maintenance
Selected residential and commercial drain systems may benefit from scheduled jetting based on usage and service history. Routine annual jetting is not necessary for every property.
