Acadiana Plumbing Services provides commercial backflow testing, repair, replacement and installation in Lafayette and surrounding Acadiana communities. We service eligible domestic, containment and fire-line assemblies while coordinating applicable testing documentation, permits, inspections and temporary water-service interruptions.

A qualified tester evaluates the assembly’s check valves, relief valve and operating pressure according to the applicable testing procedure. For LUS accounts, completed annual test reports are submitted through the required reporting system.

Failed assemblies may require cleaning, internal rebuilding, valve replacement or complete assembly replacement. Recommendations depend on test results, assembly condition, parts availability, water-system requirements and the authority having jurisdiction.

Perform required field testing using appropriate procedures and calibrated equipment, then complete and submit the applicable compliance documentation.
Repair eligible assemblies by replacing worn or failed internal components, then retest the assembly to determine whether it meets the required performance criteria.
Install approved backflow prevention assemblies selected for the water service, hazard classification, available space and applicable utility or code requirements.
Service eligible assemblies protecting commercial domestic water and fire services. Fire-line work requires advance coordination before any system is placed in test or temporarily isolated.
Lafayette Utilities System requires annual testing. Requirements in other Acadiana communities may differ by water provider and authority having jurisdiction. Property owners and managers should follow the testing notice, due date and documentation instructions issued for each assembly.
A failed test does not always mean the entire assembly must be replaced. Internal components may be cleaned, repaired or rebuilt when suitable parts are available. The assembly must then be retested. Severe damage, corrosion or unavailable parts may make replacement necessary.
Testing requires operating the assembly’s shutoff valves and may briefly interrupt the connected service. Repairs or replacement usually require a longer shutdown. Fire-line assemblies must be coordinated with property management, alarm monitoring and the appropriate fire-protection contacts before isolation.
